Brands, colours, and sizes

Brand​

Open Brands and choose New to open the Brand Card.

  1. Enter a Code and Name, and set Status to Active.
  2. Enter a Logo URL if wanted (must be a secure HTTPS address).
  3. In the defaults group, set Default Colour Set, Default Numbering Scheme, Default Category Template Code, Default SKU Status, and Default GTIN Pool Code so new Styles under this Brand inherit them unless overridden individually.
  4. On the Channel Mappings subform, add a row per storefront this Brand publishes to: Channel Code, Description, External Store ID, External Catalog ID, and Active. Only Active rows are actually published; turn a mapping off to keep it on file without sending SKUs there.

Result: the Brand appears in the Brand list, and any new Style assigned this Brand inherits its defaults, with its own field taking priority whenever it is set.

Colour​

Open Colours and choose New to open the Colour Card.

  1. Enter a Code, or leave it blank if Colour Nos. is configured on Apparel PIM Setup and you want the next number drawn automatically. The assist-edit button next to Code lets you pull the next number on demand; it only works once a Colour Nos. series exists.
  2. Enter a Display Name and a Sort Order.
  3. In the Visual group, set Hex (used for cell colouring in the matrix view), and optionally a Swatch URL and a Pantone Reference.

Result: the colour appears in the Colour list. Renaming a colour's Display Name later automatically refreshes the description of every SKU using that colour, unless that specific SKU's description was hand-edited.

A Colour cannot be deleted while it is still referenced anywhere: a Style's Colours list, a Colour Set membership, or a generated SKU. The error names exactly what is still using it.

Colour Set​

Open Colour Sets and choose New to open the Colour Set Card.

  1. Enter a Code, Display Name, and Description.
  2. On the Members subform, add one row per Colour that belongs to this set, each with a Sort Order.

A Colour Set is a curated, named group of colours a Style can be constrained to, for example "Core 12." Once a Style names a Colour Set, adding a colour outside that set to the Style's matrix still works, but prompts a confirmation and flags the row as ad hoc. See The matrix.

A Colour Set cannot be deleted while any Style still references it; the error lists the dependent Styles.

Size Scale and Size​

Open Size Scales and choose New to open the Size Scale Card.

  1. Enter a Code, Display Name, and Description.
  2. On the Sizes subform, add one row per size the scale offers, each with a Code, Display Name, and Sort Order (for example Newborn, 0-3M, 3-6M). Sizes display in ascending Sort Order, not alphabetically, which is how a scale can show "Newborn, 0-3M, 3-6M" in the right order.

A Size Code only needs to be unique within its own Size Scale, so the same code (for example "S") can exist independently in two different scales.

Deleting a Size Scale is blocked while any Style still uses it. Once unused, deleting it also removes its Sizes, unless one of those individual Sizes is itself still referenced by a generated SKU, a per-Style size override, or an Item, in which case the whole deletion is blocked and the error names the dependency.
