Getting started
An administrator sets the product up once per company before anyone creates Styles. The starting point is the Apparel Setup Hub, which schedules the baseline data new SKU creation and lifecycle transitions depend on.
Set up the app: the Apparel Setup Hub
On a fresh install, or an upgrade from a version predating this hub, the Apparel role centre shows a notification: "Elevate Apparel still needs to be set up for this company." Click its Set up now action, or open Apparel Setup Hub directly from the role centre's Setup and Demo group, to reach the same page either way.
The hub is deliberately small: one action, plus a shortcut to everything else.
- Run Run Setup Jobs. This schedules two jobs on the standard Business Central Job Queue rather than running them inline, so it will not hold up your session even on a company with a large existing catalogue:
- The baseline SKU Status list (Draft, Active, On Hold, Discontinued, Blocked), plus a backfill of any existing apparel SKU that somehow has no status at all.
- A one-time Style data migration: converting any legacy Archived status, and backfilling a blank Colour Set from the Style's Brand default where one is available.
- The hub's two status fields, SKU Status Baseline and Style Data Migrations, read "Not yet run" until the Job Queue actually processes the scheduled entries (usually within moments, assuming the Job Queue is active for this company), then flip to "Complete." Reopen the page, or run the action again, to refresh them. Running the action again once both are already complete is a safe no-op; it does not redo anything.
- If scheduling itself fails, for example because the Job Queue is not active for this company, the action stops with an error telling you to check the Job Queue and try again, rather than silently doing nothing and marking setup complete regardless.
- Below the action, jump straight to Apparel PIM Setup, Brands, Numbering Schemes, or Category Templates without leaving the hub.
The same two jobs are also registered with Business Central's own native Assisted Setup and Manual Setup pages, so an administrator auditing every installed extension's onboarding status in one place sees Elevate Apparel listed there too.
Result: once both jobs have run, the role centre notification stops appearing, and every company, whether freshly installed or upgraded from an older version, has the baseline data new SKU creation and lifecycle transitions depend on.
Next
- Configure Apparel PIM Setup: the company-wide defaults every new Style inherits.
- Starter pack and demo data: the category starter pack and the optional sample datasets.
