The matrix

A Style's matrix is its colours down the rows and its sizes across the columns. You choose the colours and sizes, then generate a SKU for each cell.

Add colours to the matrix​

On the Style Card, go to the Colours subform.

  1. Add a row, choosing a Colour Code from the Colour master. Colour Name and Effective Swatch fill in automatically.
  2. Optionally set a Barcode Prefix or a Swatch URL Override for this specific Style-and-Colour combination.
  3. Set Sort Order to control display order in the matrix and on the storefront.

If the Style has a Colour Set and you pick a colour outside it, you are asked: "Colour X is not in the Style's Colour Set Y; add anyway?" Confirming adds the row and marks it ad hoc. From the Style Matrix viewer, run Promote Ad Hoc Colour to Set to fold a recurring ad-hoc colour permanently into the Style's Colour Set.

Deleting a Colour row is consequential: any Draft SKUs for that colour are removed outright, and any already-transacted SKUs for that colour are moved to Discontinued automatically. The colour disappears from the matrix either way.

Sizes: the full scale, or a per-style subset​

By default, a Style's matrix uses every size on its Size Scale. To offer only a subset:

  1. On the Style Card, turn on Use Per-Style Sizes.
  2. The Sizes (Per-Style Override) subform appears.
  3. Add the sizes this Style actually offers, each with a Size Code (from a picker constrained to the Style's own Size Scale) and a Sort Order.

This is a genuine override, not an additive filter. If the toggle is on but the override list is empty, the matrix resolves to zero sizes rather than silently falling back to the full scale, which shows up as "no sizes available" if you try to release before adding any.

View the matrix​

On the Style Card, run Matrix to open the Style Matrix. This requires the Style to already have a Style Code and a Size Scale set. Rows are the Style's colours, columns are its sizes (up to 32 columns; a scale with more than 32 sizes only renders the first 32, with a warning to refine the scale or split the Style). Each cell shows the SKU code, on-hand inventory, primary GTIN, and lifecycle status for that colour and size combination.

Clicking an empty cell creates that SKU on the spot; clicking a populated cell opens the linked Item. Run Refresh to reload the matrix from the latest Style, Colour, Size, and Item state.

A separate, editable Document Matrix view supports entering quantities directly on Sales, Purchase, Item Journal, and Transfer document lines across a whole colour and size grid at once, rather than picking individual variant lines one by one.
