Attributes and tags
Attribute Definitions
Open Attribute Definitions and choose New to open the Attribute Definition Card.
- Enter a Code and a Display Label (the label actually shown on every grid; Code is just the internal key).
- Set Data Type: Text, Decimal, Boolean, Date, List, Multi-select, or Document Link.
- Set Scope: Style, Product (Style plus Colour), or SKU. This decides which of the three assignment grids the attribute appears on. See Attributes and their scopes.
- Set Field Group (Commercial, Regulatory, Web, or Internal) to organise the grid.
- Set Required if this attribute should count toward the Completeness Score. This is scoring only; it does not block saving or releasing on its own.
- Set Override Allowed if a value entered at a deeper scope than this attribute's own Scope should actually take effect.
- Set Translatable if the attribute should carry a separate value per storefront language.
- Set Auditable if changes should be recorded in the standard Change Log.
- Set Mirror To Item Attribute if the primary-language value should also be mirrored onto Business Central's own native Item Attribute Value Mapping, so standard filtering and search pick it up too.
- If Data Type is List or Multi-select, add the allowed values on the embedded grid, each with a Value Code and Display Value.
Deleting an attribute that already carries values anywhere is blocked unless you confirm a destructive prompt naming how many rows are affected; confirming permanently removes every value, list value, and Category Template link for that attribute.
Tag Catalogue
Open Tag Catalogue to maintain the master list of tags a channel connector (for example a storefront platform) can send as product tags. Each has a Code (the literal string sent to the channel), a Display Value (what merchandisers see, renameable without breaking anything since Code stays fixed), and a Group (Season, Material, Collection, Storefront Status, Gender, Brand, Fabrication, or Other).
Storefront Languages
Open Storefront Languages (under Administration) to maintain the list of languages your business actually publishes into. Each entry must match a standard Business Central language; this is the list that attribute translations key off, so a translation can never be entered for a language you have not explicitly configured. See Web tags and translations.
