Tracking and Editing Requests

The request goes through the workflow your administrator configured for the record type. You can watch it progress.

Tracking with Requested By Me

Open Requested By Me from the sidebar. The list shows every request you have created, with its current status:

StatusWhat it means
DraftNot yet submitted.
AwaitingResponseWaiting on a vendor or external party.
PendingWith one or more approvers.
ReturnedAn approver sent it back to you for changes. Open it and edit, then resubmit.
ApprovedAll approvals collected. The system is preparing to write back to Business Central.
CreatingInERPBeing created in Business Central right now.
ActiveInERPSuccessfully created in Business Central.
CreationFailedThe write-back to Business Central failed. An administrator can retry.
RejectedAn approver rejected it. The reason is on the request.
CancelledYou or an admin cancelled it.
EscalatedThe SLA was missed and the request was escalated according to the workflow.

Notifications

Open Notifications from the sidebar to choose how you hear about activity:

  • Email, Portal, Microsoft Teams (if your tenant has Teams enabled).
  • Immediate, Daily Digest or Off.

You can override the defaults per event. For example, you might want immediate notifications for "Returned" so you can fix things quickly, but only a daily digest for routine progress events.

Editing a returned request

If an approver returns a request to you, you will get a notification and the request will show in Returned status. Open it from Requested By Me.

  • The approver's comment is shown at the top of the form.
  • All previous values are kept; just edit what needs to change.
  • Choose Resubmit when ready. The request continues from the step that returned it; it does not restart from the beginning unless your administrator has configured the workflow that way.

Cancelling a request

You can cancel any request you raised that is still in flight (not yet Approved or Active in ERP). Open the request and choose Cancel. A reason is required so approvers know why a pending request disappeared from their inbox.

You cannot uncancel. If you cancelled by mistake, raise a new request.
