Release
Release to Items
Run Release (also shown as "Release to Items") on the Style Card once it is ready to go live.
Release requirements, unconditional regardless of Apparel PIM Setup:
- The Style must have a Brand and a Size Scale.
- For a full-matrix release, it must have at least one Colour, and must resolve to at least one Size (from the scale or the per-style override).
Release requirements, only enforced if the matching toggle is turned on in Apparel PIM Setup's Style Release Requirements group (all off by default): Category Template filled in, Country of Origin filled in, Primary Vendor filled in, and all three posting groups filled in.
The release-scope prompt
If the Style already has a hand-picked subset of SKU cells (created through Bulk Create Cells, or by clicking individual empty cells in the matrix) that is a genuine subset of the full colour by size grid, Release asks:
"Style X already has N SKU cell(s) created, out of M in the full colour x size matrix. What do you want to release?"
- Release the full colour x size matrix
- Release only the N cell(s) already created
Choosing the first expands and generates every remaining colour and size combination; choosing the second finalises only the cells already created, leaving the rest of the grid untouched. This prompt does not appear at all if the Style has no cells created yet (a normal first release just expands the full matrix), if the created-cell count already equals or exceeds the full matrix, or when running the batch Release All Concept Styles entry point, which always expands the full matrix for every Style it processes.
Result: on a successful release, Status moves from Concept to Active automatically, and the Completeness Score recalculates.
Re-issuing a discontinued Style
To launch a successor to an older, discontinued Style, without rebuilding its matrix and attributes from scratch:
- Create the new Style and set its Predecessor Style Code to the discontinued one. This immediately fills any of the new Style's blank scalar defaults (Brand, Category Template, Size Scale, Colour Set, Numbering Scheme, Country of Origin, Vendor, posting groups, Tax Group, Composition Notes) from the predecessor, without overwriting anything already typed.
- Run Inherit from Predecessor for a fuller copy: every Colour from the predecessor not already on the new Style, and every Style-scope attribute value (with its translations) not already present. It reports back how many Colours and attribute values were added. This never touches SKUs, inventory, or ledger history, only the master-data shape.
- Run Predecessor Style at any time to jump straight to the predecessor.
- From the predecessor's own Style Card, run Re-Issued By to see every Style that names it as a predecessor, the re-issue chain.
