Cascades

Three separate settings resolve the same way, most specific wins:

  1. Numbering Scheme (how a SKU's Item No. is generated): Style override, then Brand default, then the company default on Apparel PIM Setup, then an automatic {StyleCode}-NNNN fallback if nothing at all is configured.
  2. GTIN Pool (which pool of barcodes a new SKU draws from, if barcode auto-allocation is turned on): Style override, then Brand default, then the company default on Apparel PIM Setup, then no allocation at all if nothing resolves.
  3. Attribute value (what value a SKU's attribute actually shows, when the attribute allows overrides): SKU-level value, then Colour-level value, then Style-level value, then the attribute's own configured default.

Once you recognise this cascade shape, several parts of the product make sense at a glance. A Style Card carries an editable override field and, next to it, a read-only Effective field showing what actually applies and which level supplied it.
