Overview

Elevate Approvals routes master data and document changes through an approval workflow before they land in Business Central. A requestor raises a change (a new vendor, an updated customer, a document that needs sign-off), one or more approvers review it, and once approved the record is created or updated in BC automatically.

What it does

The product has two halves that work together:

  • A Business Central extension (the connector) that pushes lookup data and existing records to the portal, and pulls approved requests back to create or update the matching BC record.
  • A web portal where people actually raise, review and track requests. Administrators design the record types, workflows and integrations that the portal runs.

Because BC only ever calls out to the portal, and never the other way round, the same portal can support other ERPs later without any change to how you use it today.

Who this guide is for

  • Administrators connect Business Central, design record types and workflows, and manage users, notifications and integrations. Start with Connecting Business Central and then the Admin Guide.
  • Approvers review requests raised by others and decide whether to approve, reject, return or forward them. See the Approver Guide.
  • Requestors raise new requests, attach supporting documents and track them through to Business Central. See the Requestor Guide.

Most people hold one role, but a user can be granted more than one, for example an Admin who also approves.
