Stock on Hand

Stock on Hand gives warehouse and inventory staff a live, on-demand view of quantity on hand, grouped by Bin, by Lot, or by both together, without leaving Business Central or waiting on a posted report.

Turning it on

Stock on Hand is off by default. An administrator turns it on from the Operations Hub Setup page, using the Enable Stock on Hand toggle. Until it is switched on, opening the page shows a message explaining that it is disabled, with a link straight to Operations Hub Setup so an administrator can turn it on from there.

Opening the page

Once enabled, search (Tell Me) for Stock on Hand to open it. There is no separate setup step beyond the toggle above.

Filtering

Before you can see any results, set at least one of:

  • Location Filter - show stock on hand at one location.
  • Item Filter - show stock on hand for one item.

You can set either filter on its own, or both together to narrow to one item at one location. Trying to run the search with neither filter set gives a clear message asking you to set one.

Grouping

The Grouping selector controls how quantity is summed and which columns appear:

GroupingShowsQuantity is summed
BinLocation, Zone, Binacross every lot held in that bin
LotLocation, Lotacross every bin holding that lot
Bin and Lot (default)Location, Zone, Bin, Lotat the exact bin-and-lot combination

Switching Grouping only changes what the next Show Results will build; it does not automatically refresh a result already on screen.

Lot detail columns

When Grouping includes Lot (Lot, or Bin and Lot), two extra columns appear next to Lot No.: Expiry Date and Country of Origin. These columns stay blank for every customer today: they are populated by a separate Equerra partner add-on for customers running a third-party lot tracking system, which has not been released yet. Once that add-on is installed, the same two columns start showing real values automatically, with no change needed to this page or how you use it. That same add-on can also add further columns of its own, such as an inspection status, without any change to this page.

FactBox pane

Selecting a row in the results shows supporting detail alongside the list, without opening a separate page:

  • Picture - the selected row's item picture.
  • Item Invoicing and Item Replenishment - the standard Business Central item detail panes, narrowed to the row's location, bin, variant, and lot where those apply.

For deeper detail than the FactBox pane shows, use the navigation actions described below.

Select a row and use one of the navigation actions to jump straight to the related record:

  • Item Card - the item behind this row.
  • Lot No. Information - the lot behind this row. Only available when the row has a Lot No. (grouped by Lot or Bin and Lot, and a Lot No. Information record exists for it).
  • Warehouse Entries - the underlying warehouse ledger entries for this row's location, bin and lot.
  • Item Ledger Entries - the underlying item ledger entries for this row's item, location and lot.

Usage is tracked

Every time you run Show Results successfully, Equerra records that Stock on Hand was used (which kind of filter was set, and how many rows came back). No item, customer, or other business data leaves your environment; this is aggregate usage information only, and it helps Equerra understand which parts of Stock on Hand matter most to customers.
