FAQ

Why can't I edit my label template?

The template is in Certified status. Use the Reopen action on the template card to set it back to Draft before making changes.

I don't see any templates when I choose "Print Elevate Labels" on a document page.

Only Certified templates appear on the print page, and the list is filtered by the source table matching the document you are on. Check that your template's source table corresponds to the correct table for that document.

What happens if the HTTP endpoint is unreachable when a label is sent?

The print log entry records an error with the HTTP response details. If the label was triggered by an auto-print rule using the Asynchronous process mode, the system can retry failed requests based on the configured retry settings.

Can I restrict who can use a specific template?

Yes. Set the template's Access Control to Restricted, then add the permitted users on the Template Permissions tab. Only listed users can generate labels from that template.

What is the difference between Synchronous and Asynchronous process mode?

Synchronous processes the label request immediately, during the current transaction. Asynchronous queues the request for background processing through a job queue entry, which suits high-volume scenarios or cases where label generation should not delay posting.

How do I clean up old print log entries?

Elevate Labels integrates with Business Central's retention policies. You can set up retention rules for the print log and label request tables to purge old records automatically.

What output formats are supported?

CSV, TXT, Fixed Width, and JSON.
